Frequently Asked Questions

1) Q. What is the difference in Shastri course from Pandit Todarmal Smarak Trust, Jaipur and Parmagam Honours course?

Ans. If you may, it is ideal to do a full time 5 years Jain Darshan Shastri course – 2 years Kanishtha & Varishtha Upadhyay, which is affiliated with Ajmer board and then 3 years of Graduation from Rajasthan University. It has pre-requisites of certain age group and minimum qualification. Shastris become scholars in Sanskrit language, Logic and Grammar apart from studying more than 40 Jain scriptures in original.

We, at Parmagam Honours course, have tried to incorporate only the Jain syllabus of Shastri course and have tied up with Veetrag Vigyan Mukta Vidyapeeth, Jaipur for certification!

Pls note our certificates don’t qualify as substitutes for graduation or any other course recognised by government or university. This is a private certificate.

2) Q. What if I miss exams in certain semesters?

Ans. We give an open window to appear for exams if you are not available on a certain day. So you have many time/day options to manage. If still, you have an unavoidable/critical situation, kindly discuss the same in person with Swanubhuti Jain (swanubhuti@gmail.com) and if found justified, we can give you extended option to appear for exam same year. If you still miss out completely, you will have to appear for the exam in subsequent semester same time next year; and hence a year will be lost. But it is fine if a student completes the course in 6,7 or 8 years instead of 5 years as he gets the same certificate of completion of the full course.

3) Q.  What are the passing marks?

Ans. Passing marks are 35 out of 100, but we recommend you repeat the year or exam if you get less than 60 by choice. This is because the objective of this course is understanding of concepts in depth, not just passing through.

4) Q. What are these assignments for 30 marks? Can you explain the details?

Ans. In line with our endeavor to keep adding value through the Parmagam Honours course, we have assignments totaling 30 marks for a semester, thereby reducing the total marks during final exams to 90 each and 270 in all.

During every semester, each student will need to do below assignments only once and will be evaluated basis his/her presentation.

गणधर मूल्याँकन:

For 10 marks, given student will need to comprehensively summarize the entire lecture in 5-7 mins at the end of class and basis quality of points covered, the teacher will evaluate and allocate marks. Evaluation is purely on content comprehension and summarization, not the strength of oratory.

विषय विशारद:

For next 10 marks, students will get a subject from the course material and they will need to prepare and present the practical application of that concept in day-to-day life in not more than 5 mins; here again, marks will be for accuracy and relevance of application. These should be preferably real-life examples that most can connect with to make their own life better.
Students need to confirm in advance which date/class they plan for their Gandhar moolyankan and Vishay Visharad so teachers/team leaders can plan total students participation and coverage.
